Presentation Title:

Unexplained female infertility among women with mental disorders

Abstract

Infertility (clinical definition): a disease of the reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse (ICMART and WHO Revised Glossary on ART Terminology, 2009). 348 women aged 18 to 40 years with a diagnosis of Female infertility were examined by the clinical method, followed by statistical processing of the results obtained in the gynecological department. Criteria for inclusion in this study - the diagnosis of female infertility, which was established by an obstetrician-gynecologist according to the current criteria, comorbid female infertility mental disorders. The average age of manifestation of a mental disorder was 21.85±5.76 in women with primary infertility and 22.25±7.14 in women with secondary infertility. Exclusion criteria: severe somatic and neurological diseases. 120 had a history of psychiatric disorders (34.17% Schizophrenia, continuous; 16.67% Recurrent depressive disorder; 13.33% Bipolar II disorder). It was found that Unexplained female infertility, primary and secondary, was significantly more common in groups of women with mental disorders. The results of the study made it possible to establish the relationship and mutual influence between the indicators of menstrual and reproductive function and the mental state of women with various types of infertility. Based on the data obtained, it can be stated with a high degree of certainty that the presence of mental pathology in women is the most common reason for diagnosing infertility with an unidentified etiological factor - idiopathic infertility. This confirms the existing opinion about the impact of an altered mental state on the clinical course of infertility.
