Designing the positive organizational behavior questionnaire. Study of association of positive organizational behavior in employees with depressive disorder.

Abstract

Research on positive organizational behavior is currently becoming more important, due to the fact that it is directly related to productivity, employee satisfaction with work, depressive disorder. Due to the lack of a method for assessing positive organizational behavior in Russian-speaking sample the author developed the questionnaire of «Positive Organizational Behavior», consisting of 5 subscales: vision of prospects, experience and understanding of well-being, effective positive behavior, confidence in success and perception of emotional state. The psychometric properties of the author's questionnaire «Positive organizational behavior» were checked in two steps. The total sample of the whole study aimed at psychometric verification of the author's questionnaire was 1011 respondents. The final version of the questionnaire consists of 20 points. It was checked One-factor and Five-factor questionnaire model. Fit statistics of One-factor model (Chi-square = 452,624; df =175; CFI = 0,516; TLI = 0,418; RMSEA = 0,104). Fit statistics of Five-factor model (Chisquare = 300,529; df =159; CFI = 0,948; TLI = 0,914; RMSEA = 0,047). Thus, the five-factor model showed the best results. Reliability: the general scale of Positive organizational behavior (α - Cronbach`s (α) = 0,914; ω - McDonald`s (ω) = 0,925). Reliability for the subscales: vision of prospects (α = 0,773; ω = 0,794); experience and understanding of wellbeing (α = 0,751; ω = 0,768); effective positive behavior (α = 0,807; ω = 0,821); confidence in success (α = 0,754; ω = 0,786); perception of emotional state (α = 0,699; ω = 0,715). The obtained results of psychometric analysis allow us to conclude that author's questionnaire «Positive organizational behavior» has acceptable psychometric characteristics and could be used for practical purposes. The Study of Association of Positive Organizational Behavior in employees with depressive disorder showed that the higher level of positive organizational behavior, the lower the tendency of depressive disorder.
