School of Science and Engineering, MoroccoTitle: Epileptic Seizure Prediction Using Deep Learning Models
Abstract
Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders. It has affected over 65 million people worldwide. Electroencephalography (EEG) signals are used to diagnose epileptic seizures. Studies have shown that abnormal activity inside the brain begins minutes before the actual seizure, which is known as the preictal state. The prediction of epileptic seizures before they occur can help to prevent them through therapeutic intervention. This project investigates the use of deep learning models to predict epileptic seizures using EEG signals. To enhance the quality of the data, preprocessing techniques were employed. Moreover, deep learning architectures such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Long Short-Term Memories (LSTMs), and potential hybrid models are explored to identify intricate patterns in the EEG data.
